How do we get started?

First, book a discovery call to discuss your situation and learn whether we may be a good fit to work together.
We will discuss mediation, collaborative practice, and negotiation to determine what works best for you.
If we decide we will work well together, we will design a process and budget to suits your needs.

Family Mediations

Mediation is a way to resolve disputes out of court.

The mediator is a neutral party – which means they cannot give legal advice or choose sides. The mediator can educate you and your spouse about the law and the different things you need to decide on. The mediator focuses on learning what each person’s priorities are. This way the mediator can guide the conversations to help the spouses decide on solutions themselves.

For example, maybe one parent cares more about summer vacations and one cares more about March Break. The mediator helps the parents understand these things and agree on a solution that works for everyone: like maybe agreeing to a Parenting Plan that lets one parent have the kids on March Break while the other gets a little more time in the summer.

Both spouses must be prepared to mediate and agree to work with the mediator  Click here to schedule an initial consultation to discuss our out-of-court resolution options.

Are you and your spouse ready to get started with mediation? The process looks like this:

  1. Click here to fill out an online intake form
  2. Sign your Mediation Agreement Online (you will receive a link to sign once both intake forms are submitted)
  3. Click here to schedule your intake meeting to determine if mediation is a good fit for your situation
  4. Pay the intake fee
  5. Proceed with the intake meeting and if appropriate, begin the mediation process!

“We were able to resolve the case and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome.”

I recommend this firm to anyone who is looking for a lawyer that is prompt, caring, understanding and gets the job done! The effort that was put in was amazing – I simply cannot put into words how thankful I am to have had Osbourne Valentine Family Law take my case.
